For me, a goal of mine this year is to connect my blog with my school fusion so that parents can feel more connected with me and what is happening in the classroom. Whether the updates are about me, articles they may find fascinating, or just updates of the classroom. I will also continue to play with my blog to make it even BETTER!

A Better Way to Say Sorry
The article “A Better Way to Say Sorry” made me really think how I have students apologize to each other. I too would just have students apologize “Say sorry I wont do ______ again.” This article made a lot of sense to me, and I will surely will be implementing this in my classroom this year.

The N-Word: Connected Through Historical Disconnect? | Teaching Tolerance
When I saw this article the N-word I had to read it. In all of my years of teaching last year was the first time the “N-Word” was said in my class not once, but TWICE! I found myself struggling on how to handle this situation. Even though this article didn’t give me much insight as in how to handle this type of situation with 6 and 7 year olds. I did find the historical explanation of the word to be very interesting as well as helpful.
